Tierra Smith is an award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, and world traveler with a passion for storytelling and uplifting the voices of women and marginalized communities.

 

She currently serves as the Social Media Editor at BLACK ENTERPRISE,the #1 Black digital media brand, where she manages content across platforms with a collective 1.5 million followers. Her role includes executing digital campaigns, creating engaging business content, and tracking key metrics and KPIs.

 

Previously, Tierra was a digital content producer at KPRC 2 in Houston, where she contributed to breaking news and long-form coverage of major events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, civil unrest, and hurricanes. She also worked as Lead Houston Reporter for Bisnow, covering commercial real estate trends, community development, and key industry leaders.

 

Her reporting career began at Community Impact Newspaper, where she focused on education, local government, transportation, and small business. 

 

Tierra earned her Master of Mass Communication from Louisiana State University and a B.A. in Mass Communication from Grambling State University, where she was editor-in-chief of The Gramblinite.

 

She also held leadership roles in several organizations: the National Association of Black Journalists, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the student government. In 2015, Tierra was named NABJ’s Student Journalist of the Year. 

 

While at LSU, Tierra completed a work-study program at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi, UAE. There, she wrote press releases, advised a new student-run magazine, and conducted a reporting series on media censorship and the experiences of Black Americans living abroad.

 

Tierra is also the founder of Wins For Black Girls, a platform focused on spreading good news about Black women, and Watch Me Win, a media company that champions women in business, politics, and sports. 

 

In her free time, she enjoys watching the WNBA, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Tierra is known for her creativity and commitment to using content as a force for change in the community.
